BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University officials dedicated asupercomputer dubbed "Big Red" on Tuesday that's one of the world'sfastest supercomputers.
About 300 people, including IBM representatives, attended theribbon-cutting ceremony for the supercomputer, which can perform morethan 20.4 trillion numerical operations a second.
During the ceremony, IU President Adam Herbert gave Big Red itsfirst big test by starting a program that analyzes thousands ofmolecules to search for potential new drugs to combat disease.
