QLD:Investigations close in fatal plane crash

Authorities have completed investigations into a fatal plane crash at a southern Queensland
property last year.

The solo pilot of the aircraft was crop spraying on Wynella Station, 40 kilometres
south-west of Dirranbandi, when the crash happened on December 20.

The pilot was killed when his plane hit the ground as he attempted to return to the
landing strip.

The wreckage showed no sign of mechanical failure or defect.

A post-mortem revealed the pilot had significant coronary atherosclerosis - a cause
of heart attack - but couldn't identify whether he was incapacitated during the accident.

The report found no abnormal systemic or structural issues contributed to the crash.
