NSW: Teachers say window of opportunity to end dispute

The New South Wales teachers' union says it's prepared to negotiate the state government's
revised 16 per cent salary offer.

And it says Education Minister JOHN AQUILINA has a window of opportunity next week
to resolve the long-running dispute before the next round of industrial action begins.

However, Teachers Federation president SUE SIMPSON says the government's offer cannot
incorporate the proposed increase in working hours and deregulation of working conditions.
